Acme Packet Net-Net 4500
The Acme Packet Net-Net 4500 delivers trusted, first-class interactive communications—voice, video and multimedia sessions—across IP network borders. For fixed line service providers it supports session border controller (SBC), session-aware load balancer (SLB), multiservice security gateway (MSG) and session routing proxy (SRP) configurations:
- SBC—controls subscriber endpoint access to IP interactive communications services and applications over any type of access network. It also controls SIP/H.323 trunking borders to enterprises and interconnect /peering borders to other service provider networks.
- SLB—enables linear, non-disruptive SBC capacity scaling to two million subscribers from a single SIP IP address. It supports the delivery of any IMS or NGN service; any SIP application—voice, video, presence, messaging and multimedia; over any fixed line or mobile access network, including the Internet.
- MSG—enables fixed-mobile substitution (FMS) and convergence (FMC) by securing the delivery of voice and data services over untrusted Internet and WiFi networks to femtocells and dual-mode endpoints.
- SRP—performs core SIP session routing between SIP border elements such as session border controllers, CLASS 5 softswitches, Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS), Mobile Switching Centers (MSC), IMS subscriber call control elements and softswitches controlling media gateways.
The Net-Net 4500 features an Acme Packet custom hardware design tightly integrated with Net-Net OS to provide controls spanning five areas—security, service reach maximization, SLA assurance, regulatory compliance, and cost and revenue management. The Net-Net 4500 complements the Acme Packet's Net-Net 3820, 9200 and 14000 platforms.
