EarthLink, the second largest broadband ISP in the United States, uses Acme Packet SBCs to deliver high-quality and secure voice services, including EarthLink trueVoice for local and long distance calling using regular phone numbers and Vling for free on-net calling with integrated IM and voice calling. Acme Packet’s SBCs provide a comprehensive set of security services, including access control, and network topology hiding. To extend service reach, the adaptive NAT traversal feature allows VoIP calls to cross existing data firewalls at the customer premises. Other features being used by EarthLink include QoS management and accounting.
